International Veterinary Experience Committee (IVEC) Scholarship - $500 scholarships to off-set the cost of either a summer or 4th year rotational international trip. Deadline typically in January. See last year's forms for more info:
AVMA Externship Stipend Program - $1000 stipend awarded to students performing externships in non-clincal settings, specifically: Public Practice (CDC, NIH, FDA, USDA), Research, Industry or within food animal medicine. Deadline typically in January of each year.
AVMHS Veterinary History Essay Contest - 1st place prize of $1200 to the best essay written about veterinary history. Any veterinary student eligible. Deadline typically April of each year.
LIVFund - Live, Intern, and Volunteer in Latin America - If you are looking to travel to Latin America, you can apply year-round for financial aid towards your program and living expenses. LIVFund awards two $500 scholarships per month to selected recipients.
Freeman Asia Scholarship (Asia-Georgia Internship Connection) - for internships at least 28 days long in east and southeast asia any time of the year (some other Asian countries may be considered such as Nepal). Internships for credit are preferred but not required. Scholarships are worth up to $5000. Visit the OIE scholarship webpage for more information.
Boren Awards (via the National Security Education Program) - The Boren fellowship program is for graduate students with an interest in working in the National Security arena post graduation. The program selects individuals interested in studying less-commonly taught languages in under-represented regions of the world. Boren Fellowship awards are made for studies lasting at least 12 weeks and no more than a year. In exchange for up to $24,000 in funding, the student would be expected to work for at least 1 year post-graduation.

UGA IVSA Student Travel Scholarship - $500 individual scholarships awarded to UGA students pursuing internships/externships abroad. Application open typically from mid January - late February.
SCAVMA Travel Fund - $300 awarded to individual UGA SCAVMA members to alleviate expenses associated with travel to an externship. Awarded at the end of each fall and spring semester.
